Cosmetic Dentistry Services

If you are embarrassed or self-conscious about your smile, we can help. Drs. Gunter and Graham have helped thousands of patients improve their smiles using porcelain veneers or crowns, cosmetic bondings, whitening, Invisalign Clear braces, or a combination of treatments. Whether you have minor imperfections or want a complete smile makeover, we can help you achieve your goals.

Veneers

There are many reasons why teeth have cosmetic imperfections. They may be stained, off color from prior trauma, poorly shaped, or suffer from excessive wear. Veneers are an excellent option to mask stains, close gaps between teeth, correct misalignment and restore worn teeth. We use Empress or EMax custom designed veneers, so patients can expect a natural and renewed smile. Veneers have a long life and are a conservative treatment. The magic of veneers is that we can use them to instantly transform your smile.

Teeth Whitening

This is the most common cosmetic procedure that people have performed. We make custom fabricated whitening trays for our patients to use in the convenience of their homes to achieve excellent results.

While some dentists use light and heat to perform in-office whitening, research consistently has shown that take-home trays are more effective at achieving long term, sustainable results. In fact, most studies show that using a light simply dries out teeth, which makes them appear whiter for a few days until the teeth are again fully hydrated. Because of this, we do not offer in-office whitening. We believe we can offer a better, longer-lasting result for less money by using custom fabricated whitening trays.

If you are interested in having a whiter, brighter smile, call the Hickory teeth whitening experts at Gunter and Graham today.

Crowns

Let Your Smile Speak For YouCrowns typically are needed when patients have teeth with very large fillings, cracks or significant wear. Crowns can be made entirely from porcelain, from porcelain fused to a metal substance, or entirely from gold.

The choice of which crown should be used will be made by you and the dentist, based on considerations such as aesthetics and function. Porcelain crowns are the most aesthetic option and typically are used on teeth that are visible when you smile. These can be made from the same material as porcelain veneers, and can also be used to transform a smile.

Porcelain crowns made over a metal substructure can also be very natural-looking, and have been the standard crown in dentistry for many years because they are attractive, yet retain a great deal of strength. They typically are a good option when crowning back teeth.

Gold crowns, while not aesthetic, are the strongest and most durable crown available. These typically are placed only on posterior teeth that are not visible when you smile. The choice of whether to use a gold crown is always up to the patient.

Dental Bonding

Dental Bonding is a quick and cost effective way to enhance the look of a tooth. Bonding uses tooth colored fillings to cover stains, close spaces, and fix chipped or broken teeth. While dental bonding cannot be used to extensive smile makeovers like porcelain veneers, it is ideal for minor cosmetic enhancements. In addition, these can be performed in one appointment.

Bridges

A bridge is used to replace a missing tooth. It is permanently fixed to the teeth on either side of the missing tooth. The bridge functions like a natural tooth and in most circumstances, gives the appearance that there is no natural tooth missing. It is a very functional and aesthetic way to replace a missing tooth.

Implants

Implants are used to replace one or multiple missing teeth. At Gunter & Graham, we use the latest in digital technology to plan your implants from the tooth to the root. Before any implants are placed, we use three dimensional technology to plan your implant to place it in the ideal location. This allows us to craft teeth that are ideal in form and function. Whether we are replacing a single tooth, multiple teeth or all of your teeth, let us show you how implants can be used to enhance your smile.
